Relaunch QRDev

Menu bar apps can get “stuck” after system updates. Quit QRDev and launch it again.

SVG, PDF, or high-res locked?

Those formats need QRDev Plus, a one-time in-app purchase. Standard PNG works without Plus.

I don't see the QRDev icon in the menu bar. Usually in the overflow area

macOS can hide menu bar icons in the overflow area. Click the » or ›› at the edge of the menu bar to reveal hidden icons — QRDev may be there. You can drag it back into the main menu bar once you find it.

If QRDev still isn't visible, open Applications and launch it again (or restart your Mac).

How do I open QRDev without leaving my current app? Menu bar only

Click the QRDev icon in the menu bar to toggle the popover. QRDev does not register global shortcuts; everything runs from that menu bar entry. Once the popover is open and focused, local shortcuts such as ⌘G (Generate), ⌘L (Library list), and ⌘← / ⌘→ (back / forward) work inside it—see the documentation.

Why won't SVG or high-res copy work? Plus

High-res PNG, SVG, and PDF (download) are part of QRDev Plus, a one-time in-app purchase. Without Plus, stick to standard PNG or upgrade from any Plus prompt.

My URL shows a placeholder instead of a QR. Validation

QRDev only encodes valid http or https URLs. Check for typos, a missing scheme, or invalid characters. localhost and 127.x hosts are supported with sensible defaults.

What permissions does QRDev need? Privacy-sensitive APIs

QRDev is a menu bar utility and does not require Accessibility, Input Monitoring, or Screen Recording. Local keyboard shortcuts only work while the popover is focused.

How do I restore QRDev Plus? App Store

Open Unlock QRDev in the app and use Restore Purchases. Purchases are tied to your Apple ID — use the same ID on a new Mac.

Does QRDev upload my URLs or QR data? Privacy

QRDev keeps your library and preferences on your Mac. See the privacy policy for details; the app is not built around analytics or cloud sync.
