Relaunch QRDev
Menu bar apps can get “stuck” after permission changes. Quit QRDev and launch it again.
Permissions →QRDev isn’t on the App Store yet — work in progress.
The guide and docs cover the full workflow. This page focuses on what blocks people most: permissions, shortcuts, exports, and “where did the icon go?”
Try these three steps first — they solve most support requests.

Permissions →The global Open QRDev shortcut is most reliable when Accessibility is granted for QRDev.
Permissions →Another app may be using ⌘⌥V. Change or reset the shortcut under Settings → Shortcuts.
Only the questions that come up the most. Everything else lives in the guide and docs.
macOS can hide menu bar icons in the overflow area. Click the » or ›› at the edge of the menu bar to reveal hidden icons — QRDev may be there. You can drag it back into the main menu bar once you find it.
If QRDev still isn't visible, open Applications and launch it again (or restart your Mac).
⌘⌥V doesn't open QRDev. (Accessibility or conflict)
Enable Accessibility for QRDev under System Settings → Privacy & Security → Accessibility. Optional: add Input Monitoring if shortcuts are still flaky.
If another app uses the same combo, change Open QRDev under Settings → Shortcuts.
High-res PNG, SVG, and PDF (download) are part of QRDev Plus, a one-time in-app purchase. Without Plus, stick to standard PNG or upgrade from any Plus prompt.
QRDev only encodes valid http or https URLs. Check for typos, a missing scheme, or invalid characters. localhost and 127.x hosts are supported with sensible defaults.
QRDev does not use Screen Recording — it is not a screen color picker.
Open Unlock QRDev in the app and use Restore Purchases. Purchases are tied to your Apple ID — use the same ID on a new Mac.
QRDev keeps your library and preferences on your Mac. See the privacy policy for details; the app is not built around analytics or cloud sync.
